Bigmouth Strikes Again

No sooner are we back from London and we’re preparing for another visit. This time we’ll be south of the river to manage the ‘Winning the battle for word-of-mouth communications’ conference on Friday 1 December.

The event takes place at the Dental Institute – open wide - and features some of the most influential names in PR, advertising and marketing who will be asking ‘Who owns w-o-m as a communications discipline?’ and presenting case studies of successful viral and buzz campaigns.

I remember a year ago scratching my head and failing to grasp the significance of a small scale event on something called social media we were managing for a far flung north east university. As you can see from the post below, the rest is history and I have a feeling that word-of-mouth may well be another essential tool we’ll all need to consider adding to our communications mix.

The conference is the brainchild of Andy Green of GREEN Communications and you can find out more by downloading the event PDF from our website by clicking here.

Judging by the very cool Borkowski Movey on YouTube we may well all be doing a conga at the end of this event!

I love the fact that it's being held at the Dental Institute. present company accepted it amazes me that so many businesses book into a Hotel Bland in Exeter for an event. They could probably get a much cheaper (and more interesting) venue in central London if they put a bit of thought into Institute's, charity HQs or trade bodies.

How else could you get a conference at 1 Bird Cage Walk, 40 seconds from Westminster, with a lavish Victorian (but modernised)theatre and a decent lunch in an ornate gallery for less than £4000 all in?

See you there...

Simon,

we're really looking forward to it and also catching up with yourself and the team. You're quite right that people should be more creative with their venues and the Dental Institute is an amusing but perfect choice for a w-o-m conference. What else should we expect from Mr Green?!

I think it's going to be a lot of fun as well as a big source of inspiration and there already seems to be a real buzz around the event.
