Well it was last night as over one hundred delegates braved torrential Mancunian rain to attend the CIPR Northern Correspondents event at MMU Business School.
Helen Carter of The Guardian and James Wilson of the Financial Times were due to be joined by Ian Herbert of The Independent but sadly he couldn't be with us as he'd had to fly out to Portugal to cover the missing child case.
Even though we were one down, Helen and James did a fantastic job of providing an insight into their roles as Northern correspondents and how regional stories can make national news.
There's obviously a real demand for meet the media type events and hopefully they promote a better understanding of the constraints journalists work under and how best those in PR can pitch news stories successfully.
