Both are great, although I have a slight preference for Hanging on the telephone. Did I ever tell you I had a crush on Blondie, well Debby Harry, when I was about ten? I think it was the short dress in the Rapture video that did it... :-) BTW: I'm over it now :-)!

Note from abroad: I'll second that (what Andrew says about Stephen, that is). As I remember from the Sunderland event, Stephen was often praised by his lecturers and fellow students. Seems they were right. Wish we had more students like him!

Hi George, good to hear from you but I assume you meant to post on the crisis comms entry. I remember you well from my times at GMP so please do drop me a line with the kind of stuff you feel you can talk about. We run all the events for the CIPR in the region as well as our own things like the crisis comms event so I'm sure there will be opportunities to do something together in the future.

I'm sure anyone reading your original post will see you're very much in favour of what Stuart and others were up to. It is a really interesting development, particularly from an event management perspective as 'house keeping' rules the world over probably now need to be revised.

Thanks for the mention. I should add that I love the idea of twittering and blogging live from an event. It just struck me what a contrast this is with the etiquette of the fairly recent) past. It was a shame Stuart had to leave at lunchtime because I did like his running blog commentary.

Almost brought a tear to my eye, and brought back so many memories of our two at that age - it's such a great time and it remains so as they get older too.

I particularly like the fact that Finn has significantly more hair than Andy even at one week old...

Thanks to everyone for your support and comments on these two posts it's meant so much to us but I do promise normal event management service will be resumed very soon...

Finn's certainly a social media baby and being able to use the blog and stuff like YouTube has meant that far flung relatives and friends have been able to get a regular peek at his progress and I know they've really appreciated the immediacy of it all.
